Summer is here and if you've got kids, then park dates are probably a weekly occurrence in your schedule just like ours. If you're looking for some fun and exciting places to take your kids to play on the NSW Central Coast, we've got you covered. Here are our top picks for the best kids parks in the area. Our criteria is; good play equipment, fences for safety, and proximity to cafes.
-
Woy Woy Waterfront Park - This park is a real gem, with a playground that features a variety of equipment for kids of all ages to enjoy. From swings and slides to climbing structures and interactive play features, there's something for everyone. Plus, its located right next to the famous Fishermen's Wharf.
-
Ettalong Foreshore Playground - With equipment that includes a play fort, swings, and a variety of other interactive features. The playground is also located near a number of cafes (we love Inner Glow Kiosk).
-
Terrigal Skate Park - For older kids who love to skate, scooter or bike, this skate park is the perfect spot. The park is well maintained and features a variety of obstacles and ramps for kids to practice their skills on.
-
Long Jetty Foreshore Playground - This playground is perfect for families with younger children, is fenced for safety, and is located near a number of shops and cafes (hello Green Tangerine!).
-
The Entrance Waterfront Park - This park is great for families with kids of all ages. From swings and slides to climbing structures and interactive play features, there's something for everyone. Located right on the water (just steps from the beach), there's even a ferris wheel! A good excuse to stop in at The Entrance Social Club for lunch too.
- Thomas H Halton Park at Croudace Bay - You'll need to pack your own picnic for this one, but in our opinion it's one of the best. Swings, water features and play equipment all surrounding a huge pirate ship as the central attraction. Located on Lake Macquarie the park is fenced in and there's hours of exploring and fun to be had.
Grab a picnic blanket, sunscreen and hats, and head out to one of these fantastic parks for a day of fun in the sun.
